Projects & Partners

Working together to create a stronger, more connected Cemaes

Hwb Cemaes is built on collaboration. Everything we deliver happens through strong relationships with organisations who share our commitment to community wellbeing, inclusion and opportunity. Our partners help us reach more people, offer more support, and make a deeper impact across the village and wider Anglesey community.

Below are some of the key partners whose support has shaped our projects and strengthened our work.

BBC Children in Need – Forest School Provision

We are proud to be currently funded by BBC Children in Need to deliver our Forest School programme.
This funding has enabled us to provide:

  • Weekly outdoor learning and nature-based sessions

  • Support for young people to build confidence, resilience and social skills

  • Inclusive, child-centred activities that promote emotional wellbeing

  • A safe, structured environment facilitated by trained Forest School leaders

This partnership plays a vital role in ensuring children and young people in Cemaes have access to high-quality outdoor experiences that nurture growth and connection.

Medrwn Môn – Warm Space Support

We have previously received Warm Space funding through Medrwn Môn, which enabled us to create a welcoming, safe, and warm environment for local residents during the colder months.
With their support, we were able to offer:

  • A weekly warm space and social drop-in

  • Free hot drinks, food and connection

  • Activities designed to reduce loneliness and support wellbeing

  • A safe community-led space for anyone needing warmth, comfort or company

This partnership helped us reach isolated community members and strengthened our role as a local hub for support.

Erin’s Angels – Grief Relief Cafés

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Hwb Cemaes is proud to partner with Erin’s Angels to host Grief Relief Cafés — gentle, supportive peer-led spaces for anyone navigating loss.

Through National Lottery Community Fund support, this project provides:

Regular facilitated grief support sessions

A non-clinical, non-judgemental space for connection and conversation

Creative and reflective activities to support emotional wellbeing

Trained facilitators (bereavement counsellor and funeral celebrant)

A community-led approach to grief education and support

This partnership ensures that people in Cemaes and surrounding areas have access to compassionate, accessible bereavement support when they need it most.

Medrwn Môn – Twrcelyn Fund

Cemaes Treasures

This funding enabled us to host a community story telling event where we got people together from all ages to tell their stories of Cemaes.

From this we created a short trail that visitors can follow to learn about the village and its amazing history.

These trails have been printed and will be available for visitors to purchase for a suggested donation of £2 with all money going back into the hwb for community events.

The National Lottery Community Fund – Youth Connections

Our Youth connections project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund focuses on creating space for children of all ages to learn and grow in a safe and friendly space.

This project includes our weekly Mums and Tots groups, our Young Adult Youth Group and our Sensory Play sessions.

The funding has been used for new equipment, appropriate seating and session management and its great for young people in the village to have a space to come together and enjoy their own sense of community spirit.

Local Partners and Collaborators

Alongside national funders, we work closely with local organisations, businesses and volunteers who help us deliver a full calendar of activities, events and community support. These collaborations strengthen village life and ensure our projects remain rooted, relevant and responsive to local needs. We welcome conversations with new partners who share our vision of a connected, thriving community.
